Leak Detection in Plano & DFW

A hidden water leak can run for months before visible damage appears. If your water bill jumped and you can't find why, we locate the leak with electronic equipment — no tearing up walls to guess.

How We Find Hidden Leaks

We use a combination of pressure testing, acoustic listening devices, and thermal imaging to locate leaks in walls, ceilings, under slabs, and underground water lines. Acoustic detection hears the sound of water escaping the pipe. Thermal imaging shows temperature differences from hot-line leaks. Pressure testing confirms whether the leak is on the hot or cold supply side.

What We’re Looking For

Supply line leaks inside walls or ceilings. Slab leaks under the foundation. Underground main line leaks between the meter and the house. Roof-to-plumbing interface leaks. Irrigation system supply breaks. Each requires a different detection approach — we use the right tools for the suspected location.

After We Find It

You get a clear explanation of what was found, where, and what repair options exist. Written flat-rate quote before repair begins. No pressure to do more than the leak requires.

Leak Detection in Plano & DFW — Common Questions

Straight answers before you call.

How do I know if I have a hidden leak?

Watch your water bill. If it's climbing without a change in habits, run a toilet dye test (drop food coloring in the tank — if it appears in the bowl without flushing, the flapper leaks). Shut off all fixtures and check if your water meter is still moving — if it is, water is escaping somewhere.

Can you detect a slab leak without opening the floor?

Yes. Electronic detection equipment locates the leak through the slab before anything is cut. We open only what's necessary.

How accurate is leak detection?

Using pressure testing combined with acoustic detection, we typically locate leaks within 1–3 feet. Thermal imaging narrows it further on hot-line leaks. Precision reduces repair cost by limiting how much has to be opened.

What if my water bill is high but the meter test shows no movement?

The leak may be on the irrigation side (which often has its own shutoff) or only runs intermittently (like a pressure relief valve discharging periodically). We'll walk through a systematic diagnosis.

Do you charge for leak detection?

Our $69 call-out fee covers the service visit. The leak detection process is included in the repair quote — we don't charge separately for the investigation and then charge again for the fix.
