Melissa is a rapidly growing city in Collin County, directly north of McKinney. Most of the housing here is new construction from the last 10 years, with large planned subdivisions expanding quickly. New construction does not mean problem-free plumbing — installation issues, pressure fluctuations, and slab stress as foundations settle are all common in first-wave new-build areas.
