Water Line Services in Dallas & DFW

Your main water line runs from the city meter to your house. When it leaks or breaks, the whole house is affected. We locate the break and repair it — same visit when possible, written flat-rate quote before we start.

What Can Go Wrong With a Water Line

The main water line is typically buried 18–36 inches in DFW and runs 20–100+ feet from the meter to the house. Problems include: corrosion on older galvanized or copper lines, physical breaks from tree roots or settling soil, joint failures, and the rare case of a contractor accidentally hitting the line during excavation. The result is a wet yard, loss of water pressure in the house, or no water at all.

How We Find and Fix It

We shut off water at the meter, pressure test the line, and use acoustic detection to locate the break without exploratory digging. Once we know exactly where the break is, we excavate that section, cut out the damaged pipe, and install new copper or PVC. Most main line repairs are completed in one day.

New Water Line Installation

If your current main line is galvanized and approaching end of life — or if you’re adding a service connection — we install new supply lines from the city connection to the house, properly sized for your home’s demand.

Water Line Services in Dallas & DFW — Common Questions

Straight answers before you call.

How do I know if my main water line is leaking?

Signs include: unexplained wet or soggy spots in your yard, reduced water pressure in the house, your water meter moving when all fixtures are off, or higher-than-normal water bills. A meter test (shut everything off, check if the meter dial moves) can confirm active leakage.

Whose responsibility is the water line — mine or the city's?

In most DFW municipalities, the homeowner owns and is responsible for the water line from the meter box to the house. The city owns from the main to the meter. Check with your municipality if you're unsure about your specific address.

Do you have to dig up my whole yard?

No. Electronic detection locates the break before we dig. We excavate only at the break location. For full line replacements, we minimize surface disruption and restore the area after.

How long does water line repair take?

A single break repair typically takes 4–8 hours. Full line replacement may take 1–2 days depending on line length and access conditions.

Can you handle the city permit for a water line replacement?

Yes. We pull required permits and coordinate with the municipality for inspection. You don't need to manage that separately.
